The Nourot Cyde award is one of our most popular corporate pieces. Used for awards or promotions, the Cyde makes a beautiful paper weight and can be customized with company logos that are etched, painted, signed or fired on the award. The Solano Trophy - When the Travis Regional Armed Forces Committee needed a perpetual award for the Air Force to honor its best units in the 15th Air Force Squadron, they came to Nourot. This unique trophy was the result. Standing nearly 30 inches tall, the Solano Trophy is assembled from a vase, a platter, and etched projections that sit on a large hollow base. Stainless steel stars signify the 20 years the award will travel among the home bases of the winners.

Ciboria - This fascinating design was commissioned by the Vatican for Pope John Paul II's Mass at Candlestick Park in December 1987. Twelve hundred communion bowls and other glass artifacts were made. Several pieces were displayed in Rome's Vatican museum.

Rivergate - Blue River - Just as the river is always moving, always changing, so too does Rivergate change. This piece uses large amounts of gold leaf and frits in the pattern creating a “river bottom”. A truly mesmerizing piece.

|
Rivergate - Red River - Inspired by Michael Nourot's passion for fly fishing, Rivergate brings the river scape to your home. Nearly flat, but sculptural, Rivergate can be hung on a wall or displayed on a stand.

Murrini or “millefiori” is an Italian glass technique. The Anniversary Teton piece is made of many small cross-sections of a patterned glass rod. Mr. Nourot makes very few of these types of work due to the week long preparation it takes to create the matched murrinis. After being matched for size and design they are put into the heat. When up to 1,000 degrees the metal plate or “pastorale” they sit on is heaved in and out of the glory hole’s 2,200 degree heat. The tiles of murrini become pliable and the team presses the design together to remove any spaces where air could escape. Micheal then rolls this fused plate of murrini onto the blow pipe and closes off the sides and bottom. Blowing up the “bubble” is a delicate procedure as each color of glass has its own texture and consistency. Too much pressure will make the form too thin. Truly a masterful and rare piece to add to any collection.
